Kid Friendly Brunch: Up Inspired Kitchen. Looking for a mom approved, kid friendly brunch spot with great food and drinks and no hassle? I've found just the place!
As a family we generally brunch at home, because lets face it, it's just easier and more enjoyable. Wrangling two kids in the car and getting them to sit still in some posh restaurant is not my idea of a fun brunch experience. So, you can imagine when a friend of mine suggested we meet with our kids for a brunch play date, I had my doubts (insert side eye).

Kid Friendly Brunch Spot
We met at Up Inspired Kitchen, and my stance on kids at brunch has totally changed. This hidden gem is tucked away in a shopping plaza, so there is plenty of free parking. None of that valet business or circling around the block a million times to then have to resurrect your Drivers Ed parallel parking skills, like you have to in uptown.
In addition to a more convenient parking situation, the space is beyond cute! The little details like fresh flowers on the table just made me swoon. What also makes Up Inspired Kitchen a kid friendly brunch spot, is the play area on the patio. It's great for kids to play while the parents eat and can still supervise.
What to order at Up Inspired Kitchen
The atmosphere is casual. You place your order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The staff and owners are friendly and offered good suggestions. The menu boasts clean meals like bowls, salads, and an array of toasts (i.e. avocado, mushroom, etc.) but there is a section labeled "cheat meal" which is what caught my eye.
My favorite meal was the Up cakes. If clouds could be covered in maple syrup and berries and eaten, they would taste like this. I was so happy to see that chicken sausage was an option on the menu because I don't eat pork. My friend had the short rib grilled cheese and raved about it.
There is also a great selection of teas, lattes, pressed juices, and even mimosas! The patio has a play house for the kids to enjoy while the adults sip and chat. The kids menu is also mom approved. The mac and cheese sneaks in bits of cauliflower and chicken.
I really like their gratitude wall, where you can post how grateful you are that they invented Up cakes. Up Inspired is also doing some great things in the community. Currently, they are doing Treasured Tuesdays, and 20% of their sales on Tuesdays go to the Treasured Vessel Foundation.
Next time you're looking for a spot to brunch or lunch with the kids stop in at Up Inspired.
