If you've been following me on Facebook and/or Instagram you know I had a Parisian themed brunch to celebrate my birthday last month. I wanted to share some tips on throwing your own Parisian themed brunch. I've mentioned here and here that sometimes I like to host theme parties at a restaurant rather than at home because it gives me a chance to enjoy myself and just show up.
I chose to host my brunch at Toulouse because it's French and the decor is chic and screams Parisian glam. From the floor tiles to the details in the chandelier. Not to mention the service and food were excellent. Find a French restaurant or Bistro to go with the theme.
I like to bring in a few of my own items to add to the tablescape to help bring my theme to life. I found Eiffel Tower favor boxes and napkins at my local Party Supply store. I got macrons from Trader Joe's and put them in the favor boxes. I like when your decorations act as favors, and who doesn't enjoy an edible favor.
My friend gifted me with Sprinkles cupcakes which were also a cute accompaniment to the table. I found plastic champagne glasses at my local Dollar Tree, which I used to hold each person's cupcake.
Of course I had to dress the part. It's fun to encourage your guest to get into the theme. Berets are all the rage now and stripes are always in, so it was easy to put an outfit together that was French inspired. I just pulled out my tutu (what, you don't have one laying around?!) to bring it all together.
