How to host a Favorite Things party? My brunch club did a Favorite Things theme for our January brunch. Today I'm sharing tips and gift ideas for how you can host your own Favorite Things Party.
.
What is a Favorite Things Party?
If you aren't familiar with a Favorite Things party, here is how it works: you invite a certain number of people to your party (the amount of people is completely up to you) my brunch club consists of 5 people.
Each person brings the same gift for all of the people who are attending. For our party we each brought 5 gifts. So, everyone left with 5 different items.
Favorite Things parties are so fun and a great way to discover new items. If you've ever discovered a product you loved and just had to tell all your friends (as well as everyone on your Instagram feed) about, this is your opportunity to share that thing.

Set a Budget for your Favorite Things Party
I like to keep the size of this party small because you don't want people breaking the bank here---unless you and crew ball out like that, then do your thang.
We set the budget at $5 per item. I find that people get more creative when you give them a small budget. I think anywhere from $3-$5 per item is good.
.
Pick a theme for your Favorite Things
This is optional of course. You can have each guest just share their favorite products. Our theme was self-care, which is very broad and allowed for many options.
You can decide if you want all of the items to center around a common theme, like beauty, travel, food, cocktails, coffee/tea, etc. (definitely thinking about this for next time).

How do you play Favorite Things
There are few ways you can present your favorite things. You can put all of the items out and provide gift bags for each person to grab one of each. With this option you can have everyone guess who they think brought what.
Everything was so cute and thoughtful. The ladies really got creative with their items and everyone loved them.

For menu ideas see here and here. Al Biernat’s was also the perfect location for such an occasion. I highly recommend it for a celebratory brunch.

Favorite Things Party Gift Ideas
.
.
Favorite Things parties are very popular around the Christmas holiday, but I like the idea of doing them after the holidays, because it gives you something to look forward to after gift giving season is over.
This would also be a cute theme for a Galantines Day or Mother's Day gathering with other mom friends.
